Who we are

nepalnews.live is an independent news aggregation service. We collect and display publicly available news headlines, summaries and links from Nepali and international news sources. We do not produce original journalism.

What data we collect

We collect the minimum data necessary to operate the site:

  • Preferences you set — language choice (English/Nepali), dark mode preference, and sidebar state. These are stored only in your browser's local storage and never sent to our servers.
  • Cookie consent — your cookie preference (accept/reject) is stored in your browser's local storage.
  • Analytics — only if you consent to analytics cookies, we may collect anonymised usage data (pages visited, approximate location, browser type) to understand how the site is used. We do not collect names, email addresses or any personally identifiable information.
  • Server logs — our hosting provider (Vercel) automatically logs basic request data (IP address, browser, pages requested) for security and performance purposes. These logs are retained for a short period and are not used for tracking.

What we do not do

  • We do not sell your data to any third party.
  • We do not build advertising profiles about you.
  • We do not require you to create an account or log in.
  • We do not track you across other websites.

Third-party content

nepalnews.live displays article headlines, short summaries and thumbnail images sourced from publicly available RSS feeds. When you click an article, you are taken to the original publisher's website, which has its own privacy policy. We encourage you to read those policies before interacting with those sites.

We use Vercel for hosting. Vercel's privacy policy is available at vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy.

Cookies

We use strictly necessary cookies to remember your preferences. With your consent, we may use analytics cookies. See our Cookie Policy for full details.

Your rights

Since we hold no personal data about you beyond what is stored locally in your own browser, you can exercise your rights at any time by clearing your browser's local storage and cookies. You can also contact us at protfolio.amit@gmail.com with any privacy enquiries.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
